Oilcloth Satchel

After working in the handbag department at Nordies for so long I guess I got a bit of the handbag bug. Of course I often get hair brained ideas about making things so here's my most recent project and first attempt at making an oilcloth satchel.

It has it's flaws, actually quite a few since I did not have a pattern and messed up a few times along the way. But for a protype bag I'm pretty excited about it!!! The oilcloth was suprisingly easy to work with and keeps it shape pretty well. I have some tweaking to do but for now I am wearing it around just to make sure it doesn't fall apart...

Inspired by Hoarding

Ya ever watch the show Hoarders...Buried Alive? I recently have caught a few episodes and while half the time it can leave me feeling a bit depressed the rest of the time I have the urge to run around throwing things away.
A couple weeks ago (after watching one of the above mentioned episodes) I came to terms with the fact that I really have too much stuff packed into the much smaller space I moved into last year. It's not that I'm really attached to this stuff (I know you're thinking I'm in denial) but I just have been so overwhelmed to go through it all and make decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of. So this past weekend I decided to buckle down and just do it... one corner down...

Three more corners and two more rooms to go...I still have sooooo much stuff!!! I hear "Garage Sale" in my near future.

Quite Flattered

I have spent a lot of time lately trying to refine the photos in my etsy shop so I was super excited and quite flattered to have my primitive Lipton tea tin photo picked as part of a feature on the front page a couple days ago!
Third item down on the right hand side...if you want to see the real item click HERE.

Ruffled

I'm so in love with ruffles lately! They are so feminine and whimsical and look good on just about anything...don't ya think?

And of course decorating in ruffles is not good enough unless you have some ruffles to wear...
